Alice Against Leashes

This past Fall, Alice’s best friend and inventor has been studying China. Alice has been pondering the leashing of thoughts. Since Alice believes in allrights! this passage stuck:

“Since 2013, the CCP has officially banned media and classroom discussion of seven topics associated with Western values that are considered subversive: universalism, press freedom, judicial independence, civil society, citizens rights, the historical mistakes of the Party, and cronyism in financial and political circles. University professors who are Party members must defend the CCP in class if anyone criticizes it. Western textbooks are banned and being replaced with new indigenous versions that emphasize Marxism.”  Susan L Shirk, 2018

On Hoarding: Joys and Sorrows

While shopping one can acquire more than one can eat. Storing it for later is a natural process.

Instincts just push, animating effort. There isn’t much prior analysis and no data afterwards. How much goes to waste? Maybe that buried rotting stuff will protect from hunger, sorrow, and the keen regret of not saving. The unpredictability of need is a genuine obstruction to the creation of more time for awe and play.

Weasel animals do not store fat, their hoarding is external.
