On Hoarding: Joys and Sorrows

While shopping one can acquire more than one can eat. Storing it for later is a natural process.

Instincts just push, animating effort. There isn’t much prior analysis and no data afterwards. How much goes to waste? Maybe that buried rotting stuff will protect from hunger, sorrow, and the keen regret of not saving. The unpredictability of need is a genuine obstruction to the creation of more time for awe and play.

Weasel animals do not store fat, their hoarding is external.
